These Awards are about learning through volunteering. The Awards seek to give individuals the opportunity of gaining a Scottish qualification which recognises their contribution to volunteering and the learning they gain as a result of being involved in activities additional to their formal learning.
The Awards enable candidates to apply and develop their skills and knowledge in a volunteering capacity. Candidates will learn about the context of volunteering; plan a volunteering placement; review and reflect on their own skills during and after their volunteering experience; review the impact of their experience; and undertake an investigation of a particular aspect of volunteering, relating this to possible future volunteering activity.
The Awards are available at SCQF levels 3, 4 and 5 offer flexibility to a wide range of potential candidates, providing opportunities for all volunteers regardless of academic experience or ability and allowing for progression through the Awards if desired.

Delegates will generate evidence which demonstrates they have achieved all Outcomes and Performance Criteria for the chosen units within the relevant Award
In accordance with HSE requirements, a minimum of 6 guided learning hours are required for this course. This course is run over a full-day session.
Learners must be physically able to carry out the practical elements of the course.
The assessment for this course comprises of two parts; a practical assessment and a multiple-choice examination. On successful completion of this course, you will receive a REHIS Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate which will last for three years.
This qualification is designed principally for all staff involved in the service of food in the hospitality industry.
It is also suitable for young people preparing for work experience and people with no previous employment history who would like to work in this industry.
This practical training will deliver instant impact and holders of the qualification will have the knowledge and skills to enable them to work as an effective food server in hospitality.
This qualification is aimed at young people who may have little or no experience of dining at a table or indeed in a restaurant, and to deliver life skills whether they may or may not choose a career in hospitality.
The programme was written as a direct result of a question posed by a young person participating on another training course, who when having lunch, asked what a napkin was and why we needed one.
Eating out is experiential learning and is delivered in three parts:
