Personal licence courses allow individuals to show that they can work responsibly, and that they understand how the licensing process applies to their job.

These qualifications are based on the National Standards for Personal Licence Holders and Staff Training and meet the mandatory qualification and training requirements of the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005, the Alcohol etc. (Scotland) Act 2010 and the Licensing Act 2003.

The SCPLH (Scotland) and APLH (England and Wales) are statutory requirements for individuals involved in the sale of alcohol, ensuring they do so responsibly while observing standards to minimise alcohol abuse.
