This qualification is a joint award with REHIS and is aimed at individuals wishing to gain the knowledge and skills required to enable them to provide effective paediatric first aid. It is intended for learners who care for children in a professional setting such as pre-school or nursery staff, toddler group volunteers, childminders and nannies, au pairs and foster parents, or anyone who may have to deliver first aid to babies or children.
A minimum of 12 guided learning hours are required for the Paediatric First Aid Course. The first part of this blended-learning course is completed online before candidates attend the tutor-led classroom based part where the practical activities and assessments will be carried out. This can be held over 1 full-day session or 2 half-day or evening sessions.
Learners must be physically able to carry out the practical elements of the course.
The assessment for this course comprises of two parts; a practical assessment and a multiple-choice examination. On successful completion of this course, you will receive a Paediatric First Aid certificate which is a joint award with REHIS and will last for three years.
